Syracuse men’s soccer alum Miles Robinson has been selected to the U.S. men’s Olympic soccer team, U.S. Soccer announced Monday. Robinson is one of three players over 23 years old on the United States’ roster.

Robinson played two seasons for the Orange from 2015-16, starting all 42 games he appeared in. The defender scored eight goals in his SU career. Following two seasons with the Orange, Robinson was drafted No. 2 overall by Atlanta United in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft.

Robinson helped Atlanta win the MLS Cup in 2018 and was named a 2021 MLS All-Star. In 2024, Robinson signed with FC Cincinnati, where he’s played in 16 games and scored one goal.

This is not Robinson’s first appearance with the U.S. team. He played on the U-20 team in 2016 and the U-23 team in 2019. In 2021, Robinson was named to the U.S. national team for the CONCACAF Gold Cup, playing every single minute of the tournament. In the final against Mexico, Robinson scored the game-winning goal in the 117th minute as the U.S. captured a 1-0 victory.

The U.S. team opens its Olympic slate against hosts France on July 24. Then, the team faces New Zealand on July 27 and closes out the group stage July 30 against Guinea.
