Syracuse ended its 2021 season following a first round loss to Georgetown. The 10-goal loss extended the Orange’s championship drought to 13 years, the longest stretch of time between national championships for SU since the NCAA Tournament was established. Following the season, head coach John Desko announced his retirement after 46 years of being involved with Syracuse men’s lacrosse. The retirement led SU to turn to a program legend in Gary Gait to take the helm.
