SU junior says Schine cafeteria should be more accommodating
Dear Editor,
As my years at Syracuse University continue, an issue I have been facing since freshman year continues as well. With such a busy schedule, I often find myself turning to the Schine Student Center for meals and snacks. However, the majority of the food options offered are very processed and high in calories and fat. Being a health conscientious eater, it is extremely tough for me to eat at Schine.
Many students throughout the university rely on Schine for food. With so little food options many other students struggle with this issue as well. Schine should replace the pizza, quesadillas, and other junk foods with healthier options. Having fresh and natural ingredients allow for much healthier food options. Doing so will also allow those with food allergies and intolerances to have more choices. Having these healthier choices prompts us to choose them. These foods are also better for our brain and its development.
This is an issue that affects many students at SU and it is time that something is done about it. As Schine is being reconstructed soon, please take this into consideration when doing so.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Kyle Salmon
